The journey begins with a wood-species consultation and architectural sketching. We discuss your space, dimensions, and desired timber species to ensure a perfect spatial flow. During this phase, we hand-select the raw timber flitches from our sustainable partners to match your vision.
The timber is brought into the studio for milling and traditional joinery. We utilize mechanical wood-to-wood joinery, such as sliding dovetails and through-tenons, for a lifetime of structural integrity. You will receive weekly photo updates as your commission takes shape at the workbench.
Surface preparation involves six stages of hand-sanding. We then apply multiple coats of hand-rubbed, VOC-free organic oils that penetrate deep into the fibers. The final piece is inspected and delivered via our white-glove service to ensure perfect placement in your home.
